Paediatric First Aid Course for Childminders, Nannies, Early Years and Child Care Workers
This Paediatric First Aid Course focuses on emergency situations that professionals may come across, including teachers, au pairs, childminders and play group leaders, looking after young children.
The course meets OFSTED requirements for registered childminders, nursery staff and nannies. This course also meets the criteria set out by the EYFS, NCMA and Surestart.
12 hour Paediatric First Aid course can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.
Who should attend?
This course is for people working with young children up to eight years old or working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.
Suitable for Child minders, nannies, home care workers, support workers, nursery staff, after school staff, teachers etc......
What you will learn?
The course covers how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children.
The Course Content is as follows- First aid kit - what they need to contain and why
- Action planning
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty and the recovery position
- Resuscitation
- Choking
- Asthma and diabetic emergencies
- Head injuries
- Seizures
- Bleeding
- Burns and colds
Sprains, strains and fractures - Poisoning, bites and stings
- Foreign objects
- Childhood conditions (e.g. measles, meningitis, croup).
Course duration: 12 hours.Courses are taught by a fully qualified Pro Training First Aid Instructor and Assessor
We use up to date information from the Resuscitation Council and ensure that the course fully meet the requirements for your workplace and any regulatory body such as Ofsted.
Our aim is to run informative courses which combine theory and practical activities to empower professionals to feel competent in their skills in the workplace.
Sessions can be run during the day, in the evening or at weekends.
