Paediatric First Aid Course for Childminders, Nannies, Early Years and Child Care Workers

This Paediatric First Aid Course focuses on emergency situations that professionals may come across, including teachers, au pairs, childminders and play group leaders, looking after young children.

The course meets OFSTED requirements for registered childminders, nursery staff and nannies. This course also meets the criteria set out by the EYFS, NCMA and Surestart.

12 hour Paediatric First Aid course can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.

Who should attend?
This course is for people working with young children up to eight years old or working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.

Suitable for Child minders, nannies, home care workers, support workers, nursery staff, after school staff, teachers etc......

What you will learn?
The course covers how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children.

The Course Content is as follows

First aid kit - what they need to contain and why
Action planning
Treatment of an unconscious casualty and the recovery position
Resuscitation
Choking
Asthma and diabetic emergencies
Head injuries
Seizures

Childhood conditions (e.g. measles, meningitis, croup).

Course duration: 12 hours.
Courses are taught by a fully qualified Pro Training First Aid Instructor and Assessor

We use up to date information from the Resuscitation Council and ensure that the course fully meet the requirements for your workplace and any regulatory body such as Ofsted.

Our aim is to run informative courses which combine theory and practical activities to empower professionals to feel competent in their skills in the workplace.

Sessions can be run during the day, in the evening or at weekends.

Paediatric First Aid Courses

This 1 day Paediatric First Aid Course provides the training needed to deal with emergency situations that are faced by nannies, parents and others caring for young children

It meets OFSED requirements for the Voluntary part of the register.

What you will learn?

Emergency First Aid At Work

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to enable the Emergency First Aider in a low risk environment in the workplace to carry out appropriate first aid in an emergency.

Health and Safety Regulations require that an employer provides suitable first aid arrangements for any persons injured in the workplace.

At the end of the course the candidate will be able to manage a casualty who is injured at work, or suffers a serious illness, while waiting for more qualified medical help to arrive.

This course is delivered over one day.

This Course is HSE Approved. A certificate is issued which is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.

Course Content
Understand the role of the first aider

Incident Management.
Management of the Unconscious Casualty.
Assessing situations and circumstances in order to act safely and effectively in an emergency .
Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Baby & Infant First Aid Classes

Baby and Me -Paediatric First Aid Course

This course is taught by a fully qualified HSE approved Paediatric First Aid Instructor/Trainer

The course will be held at the following venue:

Tuesdays - Kings Hill, Kent
Wednesday - Sutton Valence, Kent
Thursday - Maidstone, Kent

Babies (up to 12 months) are very welcome on this course !! A small play area will be allocated to our 'little ones' in the same room during the practical session. There is plenty of space for car seats should you need baby to nap!

The course structure will be 30 mins of Theory, 30 mins of Practical tuition. Refreshments will be included during the session
